Must be the engine, bearings, tires, and shock oil combination you are running. It can't be that the shoes just don't really give you maximum life! Sorry, couldn't resist....

IM not debating the fact those factor's play into how long a clutch will last....but more importantly its the driver and style imo....IE me and Air8 must drive the same as we have both TOASTED a set of dyna's in a matter of days as apposed to Gallons as everyone else seems to be getting.

Default JPX .28 ROCKS!!

Dumped my Hyper .21 in favor of a JAmmin JPX .28. I dont race but I usually hit the track at least once a week. This motor is insane. Its all bottom end so I installed a 16 tooth clutch bell. I was eating up high end .21 motors at 1/2 throttle down the straight. No rpoblen clearing the doubles fron 10 feet out eather.

I installed a cooling head that I had bought for the 427 in my old LST2. I had to elongate the holes a bit but fits perfect. The motor has about a 1/2 gallon on it now. The coolin head allowed me to start leaning it out enough to get some good top end, still spitting out plenty of smoke, while keeping the temp no higher than 205*.

Not bad for a $25 head off of Ebay

I do find it strange that some of us would go through those shoes so quick. When I did run them I had a Rossi 21B 3 port (stock.) And I drive the car kind of "on throttle" a bit. I'm not full throttle around corners or anything but, I do drive throttle on to go around corners.

For me it just seemed the engine didn't have the power to engage the Max life's. IDK, but it's just good there are mutliple types/brands of clutch shoes.

Why not? I dont race it so I dont need to meet any specs. Why not go balls out at the track just having fun? I have all the bottom end I need to more than clear all of the jumps at the track and all the torque to push it geared 3+ across the 175' straight eating up guys with expensive ass .21 engines. Besides, it's real fun with road tires too. Ever seen a buggy drift...lol!

It may not seem conventional but it sure is fun. Besides, would you ask GM why they have an 800HP option for the new Corvett?....NO!

I also plan on getting eather an X2 or an 8ight T in the near future so I fugured I could just swap the motor back and forth. Its not like I could run them both together any ways

im not tryin to be a jerk or anything......but i feel sorry for your center bone's and outdrive's is all im just messin with ya.

but the fact remains that unless u have 100% traction to actually put that extra power down...all your doing is spinning the tires....especially in buggy.

Which quick change engine mount? the team losi one or the king headz one? The KHs one looks a little better because its extended for extra stiffening but would like to get some opinions on them.

Cheers.
