I took my rear end apart and installed the aluminum rear bearing inserts. After I got it back together, I noticed it was a bit "notchier" than before. I took it apart and couldn't see anything wrong with it, it's just notchy now.

Should I be worried, or should I just put it all back together and go racing Sunday?

It was a couple of months. Probably two months running it weekly. Also broke a motor in with them.

I took it apart again just now to look at the gears. They look great. It's the ring gear and the pinion gear that are notching up. It just almost as if the mesh is too close now that I have the aluminum inserts in?

the gear's got used to the sloppier plastic inserts.....now that there alloy and holding 100% true.....the mesh will feel a little notchy....that should dissapear after the first couple runs....like i stated earlier tho...u can add a couple .1 shims under the flanged bearings and "POP" the rear diff into place....and it should be smoooth as silk.

quick question about my 8ight. when the car is off and just sitting there...should it be able to roll? unless im going crazy...it hasnt until today. does that sound like a clutch problem? its had about a half tank ran through it so far and its ran just fine the whole time. it still runs fine too...just rolls when sitting there.

im sure that is a beginner question, but im new to this nitro stuff so please forgive me.

Yea , The bearings and chassis are stating to wear in. The more you drive it the more things start to work like they should . The car should roll The clutch shoes will not grab until motor is on and reaches rpm.

and did u even attempt to change the linkages before u just slapped in a new servo ? imo the 808 isnt gonna solve anything if u cant build a linkage properly.

Hello to all I am in the process of building a brand new eight and I was wondering if some one can tell me the difference between the blue flywheel that comes with the kit and the black flywheel that losi sells. Thanks
