On the bottom of the front and rear a-arms is a small hole for a set screw to lock in the lower shock screws. Just add the right size set screw and you are set.

Losi 8ight RTR Question.

Do you still have to do that o-ring or some kind of mod to stop from damaging servos?

Other then replacing the steering servo how reliable is the buggy? I plan to do occasional racing otherwise just messing around with it...aka bashing :P

How well does the roto start thing work in firing up the buggy?

I believe the O-ring deal was for the truggy . If the servo and linkage is set correctly you shouldn`t have any servo problems . I`m running the same servos and been over a year .

I've been running the orings under the radio tray still with zero issues. I just do it as a precautionary measure.

The diff ratio is 3.30:1 The ring gear is 43T and the pinion is 13T.

Johnkemp--set the EPA correctly. That's about all you need to worry about. Add some heatshrink to the front and rear CVDs.

brad996--if you feel the play is excessive try some shims. Are you checking this backlash with diff fluid in, or is it dry? I've not heard of too many people having diff problems. Actually I have about 12 gallons on mine and they seem ok. But if they ever blow up then I'll know. lol. Original gears, cases, ring, pinion. New seals every now and then though.

The play you're seeing might be due to wear/slop that tends to develop between the diff-carrier bearings and the diff-housing (I think it's only a problem in the rear?)

Losi makes aluminum parts to go there now, which I think are a worthwhile upgrade. LOSA4430.

At this point i decieded not to use it again, REMOVED the motors, installed them in my old mugen box. I now have a box that'll turn anything over fast enough and with enough torque to RACE with

I'm sorry but I never had a problem with TM X5 turbo.
Break in and 1 one year of running.
The belts are still in like new shape.

Whats up guys?
Just getting back from a 2 year break. Was running the 777 before, but just took the plunge on the Losi 8. Local track owner had one back then and I had a chance to drive it abit. It felt killer back then...so that was enough for me to buy one hehehee.
I know there is a ton of useful information through out this entire thread...but is there a condensed version someone could fill me in on?

thanks again guys!!!
