Can anyone tell me the back plate # for the stock 427 motor on the buggy. I want to switch to the starter box. All I can find is the spin start plate. Thanks.

use the aluminum on high bite smooth tracks mainly indoor tracks. use plastic outdoors and in lower grip bumpier situations. the plastic will allow more flex and allow the car to handle better. in high bite smooth tracks you want a stiff car...

From what I have read elsewhere, the part number for the back plate in question is SWK8057. It is designed to replace the roto-start back plate without having to modify the crankshaft. It has a groove machined into the face to accommodate the drive pin on the back of the crankshaft.
Where can you get it at? On Stormers website (https://www.ssl-stormerhobbies.com/c...=ns&pn=SWK8057) it under that part number it is saying it's for a SportWerks Motor. Is the Sportwerks and the Losi 427 the same?

So the tip that is on the crank doesn't need to be filled off? I can't tell in the picture.

If by stock you mean the RTR motor mounts I don't think they put the fly wheel low enough for a starter wheel to reach it. The dimensions of the hole don't provide much room for a starter wheel to go very far into the chassis. The pro kit motor mounts are usually available on ebay for low dollars. For your other question, a better picture can be found on the horizon hobby site that shows the groove so you don't have to modify the crank (that picture on amain isn't the most revealing).

If you guys come to Huntington, bring a flywheel or 2 with you... I might just have to buy one.
DC - you better make it Saturday... I see you are backing out on Beckley the 15th. I've actually put a setup on my car so this should be fun... you guys gotta make it down.
