Which Rx pack are you using?

I would like to go to li-po down the road. Could you provide a pic of your setup?

Thanks,

OK. Since the Losi starter box doesn't come out for another month here is my plan. The motor above will go into my 8. I have only been club racing at several different tracks. Will this motor be decent for 5 weekends worth of racing? I am buying my 8T tomorrow and the RTR motor from the 8 will go on the truggy. I don't want to buy all the stuff to start two vehicles and then get the losi box in a month. My main question I guess, is does anyone know what I should expect from the OS pull start above. I will have to suffer with the spin start until the starter box comes out. Any remarks or opinions?

I am going to start putting the kit together tonight. Any last tips for me? I have the steps for the throttle setup, but any tips for the diffs, if any?
Get a drill or power wrench, I took 3 days to build mine because my wrists got tired installing screws deeply into plastic. Follow the added instructions on the throttle servo setup, and read through this thread, there's lots of useful info.

That's a great motor, but if you plan to use a starter box, you can't use that motor without changing the backing plate, which might mean you'd have to use a dremel and grind the tip off the back of the crank for the new plate to work. Then you'd have to get the motor mounts from the kit, or aftermarket mounts that bring the motor down far enough to work with a starter box.

I had to cut the back of the battery box and let it hang out a little bit but it's well worth it. It's a 2 cell and is properly wired for balancing.

I tried the HT Batteries HT220. It fit but it didn't last. It's got 4 individual cells that are wired series/parallel to get the voltage and mah but improperly wired for balancing. Since each cell can not be balanced individually it just doesn't last.

2.3mm generally works well in the front.

2.6mm for smoother tracks, 2.3mm for rougher tracks for the rear generally works ok for me..

M3 Crimefighters on hard packed clay, medium or harder inserts. Best thing to do is experiment. I have one of each of the several major patterns available, and try them when track conditions change. M3 CFs work well for me, but wear out too quickly, so most of the time I run the M2s.
