I like the Proline body myself. Looks streamlined to me. I am painting up my second one now.

I just painted a J-concepts body last night, I have to say I like the shape of the stock body better.

i drilled a new hole in the front body mount parallel with the chassis to make it easier to get a clip in, it allows better access with the humps on the illusion body.

Yes. Assuming you let the paint cure long enough (over a day), and are using the correct paint. In my experience, I've never had paint crack and peel unless I used the wrong paint. I've definately had spots wear off (top of battery box, top of pipe, side guards), and in those areas shoo goo (or a shoogooed bit of extra lexan) can be used to shield those spots.

With the 8ight, or any buggy, if you crash a lot the weak points are going to be the mounting holes, where flex will stretch or compress and crack the body. If you protect the wearing spots on the body, the paintjob will still look pretty good long after the body looks shredded from flexing (and top side skids).

Both are great pipes! The 2050 will get you a little better fuel times.
Hint = The 2060 (long curved) comes with a completey different header than the 2050 (short squared). Get both headers! It is a great tuning option.
Hope this helps,

A few pages back someone said a standard 3-shoe clutch will work on the 8ight, but I tried to put one on, and the standard 3-shoe clutch does not extend out far enough to make good contact with the spur gear?

Is there a trick to get this to work, just wondering, because I have a lot of standard 3-shoe clutches I can use and only one Losi 8ight clutch at the moment.

I have a quick change Kingheadz mount and you can flip the upper mounts to move the engine foward for standard clutch setup.

Loving the 8ight so far. Ran at a big event last weekend and took some big hits in the main. The only issue so far is losing a spring cup in practice and having the spring get dislodged from the cup during the main. I was going full tilt down the straight and someone got a little aggressive coming out of pit lane. My car did its best impression of a blender and kept on truckin.

The only gripe I have is the geometry of the throttle servo to the carb. I use so little throw that I feel Im not getting enough consistancy thruout the range. Need to mess around with the radio some more I guess.
