Rossii, try #55 pistons all the way around with 40wt oil. I felt the kit setup
was a little unbalanced for me.

oooh, oooh, ooooh. My local RC hero. Hey Rossi, this guy is awesome. He is the one everyone in my area chases. Many have challenged, but few have succeeded. LOL. Indaway really knows the in's and out's of RC racing overall. I'm lucky to have chosen the Losi platform cause I get to hang out with him on the weekends. LOL. I learn A LOT!!

air 8. u r lucky to have the same group of people playin the same car .
i guess perhaps i should learn more on finger throttle than start to change the setup. but i do agree bout the rear oil is bit soft.
car tend to swift all around.

Rossi, I moved th rear camber link to #1,A. It seemed to help keep the truck from rolling around on the rear end. The truck would keep rotating when I came out of a corner. After I moved the link it seemed to drive a little more square.

The pro race roller comes with a clutch and flywheel and radio box. The radio box you have to put in your self and the rest comes assembeld. Then you just gotta put all of your electrics and motor in it.
The race roller is a really sweet i car I love mine

Default Losi 8 T RTR

Is it a good deal for what you get for club racing? I have been doing the math and the way it works out for me is the RTR is what fits my budget. I also do have a few questions

1. First question is for weekend club racing what upgrades would I need to get for the RTR?

2. What is everyone using in there diffs. Weight?

3. Steering servo with the kit ok or shoudl I up grade?

Any other info or upgrades that you may think of please let me know. The RTR I believe is the best way to go for everything you get along with the radio and I can afford a few upgrades for the RTR at the price it is. My budget is under $1000.00 for everything.

Thanks for the info!

Thanks for all your help and info.

Questions?? You don't need everything at once.

The RTR does need a couple of things changed for running it on the track.
1. Run the stock steering servo on the throttle.
Put a peice of fuel tubing on the pull side of the throttle linkage and tune for no over travel. Search for my other post in the 8ight forums.
You must use the grommets and inserts in the truck's servos.
2. Get you a good steering servo like a JR, Futaba..... They are $120
3. Get an aluminum servo horn for your selected steering servo. $15
4. Get diff and shock oils. (This is just a starting point.)
Diffs are 10K - 10K - 5K or 10K - 20K - 5K from the front to rear.
Shocks are 60 - 40 and get plus or minus 5 wt for each. $45
5. We have been running Black spring on the front and White springs on the rear. I'm not sure of the springs for the RTR so you need to check. $20??

Later you will change other stuff.

6. Get it on a starter box. You will need multiple things to do this.
Engine mount - Stock low mounts will work. The best is the King's Headz extended mount. It is easier to work with and will protect your clutch bells and spur gears. $18 - $56
You will need a back plate for the engine. $14
Get you a good box - Think about the future here. The Losi box is a great one. $120
7. Get a new throttle servo (smooth is key here!) $90
8. Tires and wheels - Run what works and lasts. You will not be the fastest until your learning curve is overcome. Do not buy Hole Shots! They may work but they won't last. Ask your track buddies.

These are just opinions and is how I would go about racing a RTR truck. Take the time to read this and the 8ight's entire forum. There is a lot of good information there that will help you.

Have fun,
TEX
