Hi all. I am new to RC and have just got a Losi 8ight T. Wanted to know if there is a thread that explains the setup of the truggy. in particular the bump steer, what it is.

Been thinking about sending mine in when the season is over. But I might buy a new modded one and use this one for club racing. I think I will always keep the VG 21 around in some form. But I don't know how long they last either. But I do know it works great in the 8ight-T. But this truck is fast to start with.

Babloo, Welcome to the hobby!!! Or to the 8t! Bump steer is how the front tire's point when the suspension in compressed. If you push down on the front shock tower, the 8t's front wheel's will still point straight. Other truck's which can't control bumpsteer, there tire's will point outward when the suspension is compressed. The lower the suspension squat's the further out the tire's point.

I'd leave this motor as is. it's under 50 buck's to rebuild it, and i think you need a big track motor.

Yes welcome, and bumpsteer sometimes make the vehicle do funnly things. The vehicles with little or no bumpsteer can accelerate sooner after landing from the jumps. Some vehicles need time to settle and straighten out.

Thanks. In the maunal the setup sheet says bump steer either up or down. What do they mean?

Ummmm.... Not really sure. I think that one is for the pros. They can tell a diff. in how little things like that hurt/help their vehicle. Maybe freefall knows. He races on-road. I think he knows more about chassis tuning.

Maybe when using the long ackerman plate the bumsteer needs to be changed.

Do you have the RTR or the "Roller"? I have the roller number chassis 1322 and proud of it. LOL.
