In the south there is still plenty of nitro racing going on. However, one of the flawed ways of thinking down here is that if it isn't 1/8 Buggy or Truggy then its considered "for beginners" and waved off as nothing. Its pretty frustrating, because even 4wd SCT is seen as not a real class down here and 1/10 is pretty much limited to 4wd SCT and 4wd mini truggy. Good luck finding anything else unless you are in Florida. Even better luck being taken seriously with a 2wd.

If you want proof, check out RCSignUp.com and look at the events down here in the South and look at the entry lists. You will see 3 classes each for nitro buggy, again for nitro truggy, rinse and repeat for the electric 1/8. 12 classes... then maybe you will see a 13th class of 4wd sct and thats it. I don't know why there needs to be Sportsman, Open, and Pro for each 1/8 class. I would prefer to see Sportsman dropped to allow for 4 more ACTUAL classes of vehicles, like 2wd buggy, 2wd ST, 2wd SCT.. which leaves just enough room for 1/10 2wd nitro ST whenever people decide they want that to come back. Thats probably just me though.

I am working on t6.1 conversions using the stock gearbox. That is the trickiest part. This truck is labeled the GT6.1

I am also working on a 2wd nitro conversion for the Tekno et410..... Called the gt210. I hope to have this prototype running in the next 3 weeks.

Have you thought about a et410 4wd nitro conversion?

Doesn't HPI have a 4 wheel drive truck, and take a look at the chassis layout and design where you would put the motor, fuel tank, servos, and battery and see limited space to make all that happen and get it under the body would be the hardest, as Casey does some outstanding work and would like him to build and design parts for my losi 22NT but he's an associated guy who sources my losi parts for me 😀 Thank you Casey

It's going to be an uphill battle getting nitro stadium trucks on the docket but it can be done. I mentioned the Facebook group before, these are all guys that I am sure would pull out their gas trucks and run them if given a chance. It also will take a race promoter who is willing to get behind it. If Racetime Entertainment (promoters of the Psycho Nitro Blast) or Joey Christensen included the 10th stadium trucks, I reckon that those guys will pony up. Beyond that if a couple of the works guys (say for example Spencer Rivkin or Ryan Maifield or the previously referenced Adam Drake) saw them and went back to their teams offering positive reviews on the trucks, you might see the major manufacturers return in 2021 or so instead of just awesome indy guys like Casey and their conversion kits

HPI had a good 4wd stadium truck but they discontinued it, the HPI MT2 18SS, from the RS4 lineup. Now they have the Bullet. They also have the Firestorm 10T Nitro 2wd stadium truck based off the HPI Blitz that would be perfect for raising some interest at the track since its RTR and not officially discontinued, but good luck finding parts support. If I ever find one for a good deal, I'm probably gonna get one. Until then, I'll probably just convert my MT2 to 2wd and just run it during practice days at the track just to raise some interest.

That's about all you can do in the interim on the club level.

Yeah, I put a wanted ad out in the BST section here for a HPI Nitro Firestorm 10T, but in the meantime the MT2 will have to make do. 10 years ago before the TLR 22SCT came out I started out racing sct with the HPI Blitz RTR then eventually upgraded to the Blitz ESE model and did well with it. Being that the Firestorm shares a lot of suspension parts with the Blitz, I feel it would do good enough on the tracks while giving me more hope of finding spare parts vs going the traditional XXXNT or GT2 route.

Here in Southern California we have a big series race called Grassroots Racing Series. They have gas truck racing and its free entry for gas trucks. We had 3 guys run at our last race before this corona virus thing. The other 2 trucks broke and i took the win. But due to that race and the excitement of seeing them, i can confirm there will be atleast 8 guys if not 10 or more ready for when we get back to racing.

I'm considering tapping into my computer and excel knowledge and tapping into the hivemind of the board and creating an up to date searchable database for racetracks so guys can find where the action is from week to week

Looks exactly how I did my 22nt. Gt2 slipper plates and disc brake. I was able to figure out a way to fit a 64t spur with room for more if needed on my truck. Just about done with it.
