The class is growing very quickly and this may be a good place to share set-ups and answer all of the questions noobs like me have. Let's keep it specific to what's working at the local tracks.

-Ball diff
-4 bearings added to the gearbox
-water dipped my motor for 30 minutes to seat the brushes
-only put traction compound on half the inside tire in front, full rear
-pull the trigger and have some fun

I haven't done anything but bearings, springs and saucing the tires. I did do some work on the friction dampers to lower the car but that's it. Curtiss Driver only did bearings and was right up near the front. By the end of Wednesday night I was running right in the mix. Just my driving holding me back, the car was great. I'm gonna try and not make any more changes for a bit and see how it works out. If you guys haven't seen this site check it out.... www.rc-mini.net.
Cool, I didn't know you guys going were racing those? I was hoping that sooner or later these types of races would happen in the area.
Are these things front wheel drive or rear? Have you already started racing them or are just thinking about starting? When will the races be? I may have to get one as I'm a Tamiyaphile.
Racing has started on Sunday afternoons and Wednesday evenings. So far everyone is racing M03's which are FWD. Not sure if the M04's are allowed. Tim would have to answer that. Last couple races I've raced at there have been 9-10 entries. The way they have been selling though we could have around 15 this weekend and I wouldn't be surprised if it hits 20 before too long. It's a Hoot!!

Yeah!!!
Good to see your post!
The class started a few weeks ago.
Everyone is running the M-03m chassis (FWD). The Suzuki Swift 1600 kit.
It's self cleaning load bearing break-ins. Use a glass of water (not drinking water or anything with salt due to the ions) and set the motor in it and run at low voltage for a few minutes.
Note, Kevin did it with a pinion and said he made a vortex. So, no pinion! haha
Per TCS rules 20 is the max pinion size. You could run an 18 or 19 also but I think that is all that will fit without modification (which would be a no no).
