Default Onroad car suggestions for a new guy

Hey guys, I know there is an on road section but I like the opinions of local guys. I am looking for a used, electric 10th scale on road car. I am not super big into racing but I would like something that my friends and I can mess around with on the track and do some parking lot bashing and driftin. I was looking into the RTR HPI E10 drift for $170 shipped simply because of the low entry level price point. I like the HPI Sprint2 as well but the belt drive keeps me weary.

Do any of ya'll have a suggestion for a good car that could be rtr for ~$250 or so? I am perfectly fine with buying used. I am not new to RC but I have never owned on road before.

The Tamiya XV-01 would be a great option. Its has a front mounted motor, which helps with drifting, it can however be setup to handle great for racing use. New it would be a little over your budget but not by much if you have a radio to use in it.

It is belt driven but has a belt shroud that covers the complete belt drive system. If you plan on doing any track racing really stay away from shaft drive tc cars.

What do you guys think of this one? It's nice that it's local.

Not a bad price. Just remember that a 25.5 is a slow motor if your just bashing it or parking lot racing it will be very slow for that. So you would want to budget in a faster motor and that esc is only good for 17.5 and up. But its a good price for what it is.

Those were kind of my thoughts as well, I don't need to worry about being class legal for anything other than my own fun. We have talked about getting in to some organized carpet or circuit racing if we really like it though.

Thanks for the info guys. Looking into a couple used Sprint2 Flux's as well.
