Default RC Pro Series Round #3 Omaha HobbyPlex

Ok, it's about a month away, but I think this thread needs to be started to discuss track conditions, tire selection, etc....

I have a couple of entries in already. When we get a couple more I'll start making the list of entries.

I'm in for Pro Buggy...finally.

Chris Pearce for Int. buggy and truggy.

Any idea when the track building might happen? Or any idea what kind of layout is planned? I think there is 5 confirmed and 7-10 more possible from the Hutchinson/Wichita, KS area planning to attend.

What can you guys suggest for hotel info? I've been having good luck with Days Inn the last couple of out of state races. Is there one of them near the track?

thanx
chris

The track build won't happen until after our Summer Series races on August 1,2.

It'll be a nitro oriented layout. I've been sketching a couple of ideas out over the last week.

For hotels, if you go to www.2009roaroffroadnats.com and click on hotels, you'll get the entire list. The Cherry Hills Holiday Inn is the closest and one of the cheapest if you ask for the HobbyTown rate at $75.00

So are they doing online signup for this race like last year. I figure I might as well do as good as I did at Nationals, but hopefully not spend quite as much!

0ne thing that will probably always remain a constant is the step like elevation of the track. I actually love how our track is terraced. One level you have the drivers stand. next level is pit lane, the next level down is the front stretch of the track and the final level, which is more like a valley is where the rest of the track is.

I actually think I might lend a hand to the rebuild so I can have a hands on feel for the track before the pro series race.

My personal favorite for buggy are Losi Eclipse's, similar to bowties, but the side lugs are angled for less bite. I havn't found a tire to compare to it, someone else my tell you different. Calibers are 2 new to say, and some people like revolvers as well.

What is the pit area like? Will be coming from Texas as the RC Pro Official and will be racing as well.
