We are trying to adhere to RC Pro rules which state an equivalent to a slash with a 7cell nimh on board. Carlton has been dealing with an ill mother so email replies are slow right now. He will get back with me when he can to verify an exact answer regarding this. Unless a truck is gutted and therefore illegal for spec, it's going to weigh more than 5 pounds no matter what battery you use. According to the RC Pro rules, if you use a 2s lipo setup you must add weight equivalent to a 7cell nimh. If you run a nicad or nimh then you should be good to go with no added weight according to what the rules state. However we know that most will be running lipo and need to know the minimum.
It's not our intention to make things hard on the racers, we just merely want to comply with RC Pro since we are hosting the national club series at Bullet Town. More info as we obtain it.

Thanks!

Alright everyone ...the minimum weight for the Slash class has been finalized for the mid south summer series. 5 lb. 11oz. ready to race.
If running a nicad or nimh battery you should not have to add weight to make that on a spec legal truck. If running lipo, you will need to add weight accordingly.
Now you know.

Unless Carlton tells me different , this will also be the minimum legal weight for the RC Pro national club series we are hosting at Bullet Town.

We look forward to a great summer of racing with this class.

So could we run an Associated SC10 in this class as long as it meets the weight given above ?

The sc10 is not legal for the RC Pro national club series Slash class. From what I've read, most tracks will allow the sc10 to be included in the open or "mod" corr classes however. RC Pro, ARCORR and most other tracks are keeping the Slash spec class just that...slash only. As the year progresses and sc10's start showing up in #'s, I suppose the sanctioning bodies and tracks will have to make some decisions at that point. I am all for an open and spec class, but it may take this season to get a mod corr class built up in the northwest tennessee area. The slash spec should build a following fairly quickly and already has nationwide. The mod class may take a bit longer due to the cost involved. No matter what, I think we need to keep the slash spec class alive to help build the hobby at a reasonable price.

We all agreed on adding a 2nd throwout race for the series.

Does the 1 race at each place still stand?

Not sure yet, we will get some test runs in once we get the track completed. once we get a good baseline, we will post the pinion size. Want to make sure we keep em running good and not overheat the electronics.
Thanks
David

I hope and pray everyone headed to Bono tomorrow has safe travels and an awesome day of racing!
The company I work for has been impacted greatly by the present economy and therefore my racing budget has to take the backseat to more important priorities in my life. Unless something changes, my racing will be kept close to home this year. Have a safe and blessed weekend!
