i know of 4 people that are going to be running this class and i might even fall in at some point in time also
so has anypody heard of a FDR for the 21.5/lipo cars
but i guess the object is to have the same speed in every car and the build quality / driver error makes the class competative
The website for vintage Trans-Am rules is listed above. ANY 4wd chassis, shaft or belt. The only change will be final drive ratio.
This class is to keep things simple and have fun.

4.2 max. fdr for 21.5/lipo cars. if we allow the silver or black cans/lipo combo it will probably be at a much lower fdr (5.0-8.0).
USVTA is a grass roots movement - outside the typical confines of santioned races. ROARS involvement will lead to the "mainstreaming" of the class-drawing in the current TC racers that compete on the latest and greatest available. If the class goes ROAR - those racers will ultimately direct the future of the class.
The availibility or lack thereof to obtain "ROAR LEGAL" motors and ESC's for this class will drive it to the brink of being a TC class - that which it was not meant to be.

we may also allow silver cans with 6 cell nimh or 2s lipos with a limited fdr of around 6.0. i was hoping to use black can motors because there are fewer "special" motor like the silver cans. i was thinking black cans with a fdr of about 8.0. we'll see. this option is so we have a very cheap alternative to enter the class. jolley and i are going to do some testing.
another thought i have (dangerous) is that the "added" motor/battery option should have a slight disadvantage to the set usvta cars to encourage people to run the national rules (novak now has a 21.5 with speed control for 150 bucks). this will also help out of towners that might show up from time to time know that there is not a home field/rule advantage.
Your probably right, unless the start/finish times don't interfere with my going to church. My two issues right now with racing is the times for sunday racing and the cost of racing. If I can run what I already have or don't have to dish out alot of money to run a class then I might be able to come out and race.As it is my batteries are pretty much worthless.

If you get a lipo then you could have your battery issue fixed.
I didn't race any this year as you all know. The job change and loss of income made things difficult.Through making sacrifices and adjusting the budget I now have more freedom to do things. But spending that kind of money right now is a little hard to do.
I have plenty of motors and batteries I can use.I may not be competitive but I could atleast come out and have some fun.If I can use a motor/battery combo I already have it would be great. All I'd have to worry about would be tires.
