I had one many years ago. I basically had to replace every piece of the driveline including putting 1/8 diffs in it. I would suggest getting a truck made to handle the power. Looking back I learned a lot building that truck but I also spent a TON of money.

The diffs wouldn't hold up? I've always wanted a badass max. Although I've already got a monster savage

The spider gears in the diffs will strip pretty quickly unless you baby it. What's the fun in dropping a big motor in a Maxx if you have to baby it lol! You can build a badass Tmaxx, you'll just have to replace every part made by Traxxas. When I built mine I bought most of my parts from Unlimited Engineering and built a Supermaxx. That was probably one of my nicest RC's ever. I regret selling it when I bought my house but I needed the money.

Wow that's useless actually. It's just the stock 3.3 doesn't have enough punch. Stupid engine to me

I've been there, done that with the T-maxx.
Don't waste your time, man.

I would agree. There are better platforms than the centuries old Maxx platform.

If speed is what you're after, then a Savage is your cup of tea. If you're after something tough as nails but not as fast, an LST II is as good as it gets.

I'm even moving on from my Savages (have 5 of them)
Due to HPI having virtually no parts support anymore.

Yeah I thought I was going crazy . What's up with that? Are they gonna make parts again?

Poor management, that's the problem. The old owners of the company at least kept parts flowing in. I love my Savages, but they're going to be sold along with my MGTs (for the same reason)

HPI changed ownership some time ago. I haven't seen much information come through hat parts are hard to find yet. My LHS carries a ton of HPI stuff, so who knows.

The T-Maxx and Revo are good for bashing. Actually they excel at that. I have a blast thrashing them because they can take the abuse. The 2.5 and 3.3 engines have worked pretty good for me, I've never really felt they needed more power because they get plenty squirrely as is. If it's big block power you want though I'll side with everyone else and say get a different truck.

The company that made parts for HPI closed up shop.
