Questions?? Shins for my diffs

Hey guys thanks for your help with my other questions. Again, I have a Losi LST XXL 2e. I've been reading that the diffs need shims put in... Can someone tell me what shims I need and if possible a pic of where I should put the shims.. Thanks

There is an excellent thread on the diffs. Unfortunately I can't figure out how to put the link here for you.
Search this forum for xxl diff rebuild. Hopefully it comes up.

Per some more knowledgeable members.
20k and 30K diff fliud.
I think the 30K goes in front rear. But not sure right now. Rebuilt my spare rears 2 months ago.
I can check when I get home if need be.

Some part numbers for you.
Losa6356 - 5 and 6mm shims for spider gears.
Losb3951 - 13mm shim
Losb 3528 - hd housing and spiders.
1 shim behind each spider to start. Then check and adjust.
Hpi z260 - better drive pins.
Av-shm-ss- 81002 from avidrc. Shims behind wheel hex. Removes the wheel end play. Helps the wheel bearings last.
That's all I can think of know.

Have a read of this thread, it's pretty helpful for those new to the LST platform. Also way shorter than the XXL2e thread!

http://www.rctech.net/forum/monster-...pic-heavy.html

Edit: Haven't read that thread in awhile so felt I should just add one thing about diff shimming. The whole point of it is to remove as much play as possible while still having them rotate smoothly. Add too many shims and it'll get notchy which isn't good either. Anyway it's trial and error, don't assume you automatically have to add a shim, it may be fine right now and may not need any added until after running for awhile. Part of the reason I tear mine down over the winter is to make the diffs as good as I can. Also the XXL2e already has the HD diffs but while you're in there do the HPI drive pins. I personally like my current setup of 30k front with about 25k rear. But I have more power and if you're going to be mostly on dirt then you'll probably want to be closer to 20k.

Thank you overdriven.
That's the info I was trying to post.
That thread should be sticky at the top for all to read.
