HPI changed to Force later. Originally the Savage X SS kits came with the K4.6, which was identical to the Axial 28.
Only later did the RTR Savages start to come with the Force engines. I never had the Force but heard it was OK. But it was definitely different from the K engines.
IMO the Hyper Macstar engines were different from both the K and Force engines, and came from somewhere else. They always had a bad reputation.
I know about the K engines because I was one of the naive ones way back in the day who bought the XSS kit, and sold the K4.6 to replace it with an Axial 28, thinking it was an upgrade, only to find out later it was the exact same engine, just with a green head.

This is all very pedantic, but just to be clear, the K4.6, which came with the SS Savage kits like 8-10 years ago, was NOT from Force.

I'll keep a lookout for these at the LHS (Hobby Town), I usually go there every other week for random parts. It was there that I first saw a Monster Pirate years ago when they came out, so I have hope.

this is the same family as the MacStar 28 ....
realistically we don't know for sure where these engines are made, things change so quickly over in China that its hard to know for sure...in the past the MacStar engines were rubbish, however without personally testing and inspecting this new engine its hard to say what it will run like or how it is made...Either way engines are soo cheap these days that its not a big deal if the engine is less then ideal

If the engine is a bad egg, one could always throw an LRP ZR .32 or ZR .30 into the truck. I've seen a ZR .32 in action in a Savage XL and it was quite impressive! I've no experience with the Hyper, but I wouldn't be surprised if the ZR .30 is noticeably more powerful than the Hyper .30.

Pretty big! Makes the Flux HP body look small
Parts look pretty pricey on ebay...cool truck but but like someone mentioned before it's hard to dump that much $$ into something without a reputation.
Hopefully you can keep us updated as to how it turns out?
