I too just dug an old Big Bear out of the closet and am looking to get it running again. The only mechanical problem with mine is that flat gear in the rear end, I think its called a differential gear, that has 3 triangles cut into it. Does anyone has info on where to find a replacement?

Unfortunately, I don't have Big Bear parts you are looking for. I just stopped by the thread to say the Ads for the Big Bear got me into RC. I never got the Big Bear, but those magazine ads turned into me getting a Nikki turbo Panther which got upgraded with Kyosho Optima Mid and then a Kyosho Hi Roller Corvette. Good times.

I ended up buying a v1 differential gear on ebay that had the dual bevel gears and modified my tri-bevel gears to fit it. I just wanted to get the truck up and running and it worked. I will try to use the complete v1 gears next time I take the rear axel out and see what the performance difference is. The truck has the stock servo speed controller so my next purchase will be an ESC. Digging this truck out and working on it has been a blast.
