Default MT with sensored esc. Should I use the sensor?

So i just purchased a thunder tiger kaiser e-mta, and it comes with an ace ibl-150 esc, which is just a rebranded hobbywing Xerun 150 amp esc, which has a sensor port. I have to get a new motor for my arrma truggy, so i was thinking of taking the ripper 4020 (which I think is a 4274)motor outta the kaiser and putting it in my talion, and buying a good sensored 4274 and put it in the kaiser.i have looked around and, in general, a good sensored or sensorless motor of that size can be bought for about the same price. The kaiser is just gonna be an all rounder truck from bashing to running the track if im there running my buggy and truggy. So my question is this, which option do yall think is best

1.take the ripper out and put it in my talion with my MM2 amd putting a new sensored motor in the kaiser

2.leave it like it is and just get something for the talion that has the MM2 in it.

3.Put the kaiser esc in the talion and get a sensored motor for it, and put my MM2 in the kaiser with the ripper

i would really appreciate yalls thoughts cuz remember either way it goes i still gotta buy a motor.

well i found out that the ripper is actually a 4074, which is still fine, but does anybody have any input on this, like i said, i otta buy a new motor anways, and the ripper would be just fine in my talion with the mm2, now I just gotta figure out what other motor to buy. Ive been looking at a few brands like hobbywing, skyrc, leopard and tenshock. any more i should consider??

As I'm sure you know, sensored is great for smooth startup, low speed running and does have a certain smoothness throughout the rpm range. Sensorless generally has more power though and the newer esc's (especially the bigger names) keep getting better and smoother.

I'm a bit of a higher end snob when it comes to electronics, digital Hitec servos etc. But it's usually paid off in the end. And with motors I believe it does with lower temps and more power. Personally I'd go for a Tekin or a HW motor when it comes to sensored motors.

Don't mean to sway you either way but I do have some points to consider. The Kaiser is more of a basher, unless you're going to be doing some low speed crawling sensored is kind of a waste. The Talion on the other hand could benefit from being sensored if you're going to visit a track at all. The smoother power delivery and modulation will help on a track. Also consider the position of the motor in the Kaiser. The endbell is facing the left side of the chassis and is exposed. The sensor port will be on that end with the sensor wire exposed hanging out in the open to get caught on something. Not the best setup for bashing.

well said. I just thought if I did decide to change motors, i might try the sensored. The stock ace(hobbywing) esc, as you said might be a good setup for my rc8.2e with a tacon senored 2250 . as I have tried the spektrum of low end to high end electronics. I have seem to find that on the lower end hobbywing, and even some of the trackstar stuff to be very good. but since the kaiser is such a big truck, i could see stuffing either a leopard 4082 or HW 4274 in there. right now I have hobbywing, trackstar, castle, SKYRC, and 1 tekin gen 2 ive been saving for the upcomin race season for my mugen. Thanks for the input, epsecially the way the motor is mounted in the kaiser, I could see a sensor wire meeting its doom on a hard tumble or a romp through the woods. thanks fellas
