I don't know if you could go wrong with any of those, really. I had an O.S. 30 that ran pretty strong, stronger then the stock 5.9

I really like the LRP .30x. I'm on my second one because I like it so much. Lots of torque, easy to tune, idles really well. Only problem is it likes to eat diffs in my RC8T! I can't seem to get more than a gallon on my rear diff with this engine. Usually not far behind is the front diff. If you like power it's a great choice.

Ok I was just shown TNS dyno chart showing that the 28-8 gives over 4hp then boost 4hp and lrp 30 over 3hp in that order

I haven't had the others, but having the ZR.30X I have no need of any other MT engine. The LRP is just awesome in every way - price/value-for-money, power/performance/speed, user-friendliness, compatibility with various plugs, pipes, etc, availability, and on and on. It's the ultimate MT engine IMVHHO.

Anything with more power will almost certainly suffer in every other category. Plus it will be even harder on the drivetrain etc. But OK if you've got the money to burn...

Do you shim your diffs correct?
Are the bulkheads still good and not worn?
Are the bearings still good, no play?

It wouldn't surprise me that the LRP eats diffs in a truggy, even reasonably well shimmed ones..

I shim my spider gears according to the AE instructions. I've tried adding an extra shim and it gets too tight. Bulkheads are good and my bearings are new as of my last rebuild. Just to be clear. I have no problems with the ring and pinion gears. It's always the spider gears inside the diff cup. They just seem to wear to easily. They turn the diff oil silver and start to slip past each other. My last rear diff rebuild used 50,000 weight oil for less diff action and it lasted for about 3/4 a gallon of nitro.

@ lighttravler : Sorry, my English is not that good, I do not understand what you try to say?

@ Micah78 : Ah, sorry, I thought you stripped the ring and pinion gears.
