LST2 vs. LST XXL transmission gearing question
Hey guys i just picked up an LST2 and now own both of these monsters. I've read that the gearing is a little better in the XXL tranny. Can someone explain this a little more. I know they got rid of the hi/low feature, but which gears exactly got changed and with what result? My goal is to re-gear my LST2 to XXL standards if possible, if not, i may try to find an XXL or XXL 2 transmission to put in the LST2.

The output gears inside the transmission are different. You can buy them separately and install them in the LST2 I think.

The XXL also has a 18/26 clutch bell, the LST2 17/25.. (or is it 19/26 vs. 18/25?.. Either way the XXL has a higher count CB.
Not sure on XXL-2 gearing. I think I recall reading it wasn't the same.. Maybe the older CB?..

Related question - did the XXL transmission have hi/lo? I thought it was just the LST2??..

That's what I thought.. Found a guy selling an "XXL transmission", but with hi/lo.. Figured it must be from an LST2..
