So I just got a Tmaxx 2.5 the guy I got it from said it just needed a starter. Tried that still nothing cleaned everything and changed the spark plug. Not sure what I should replace next when I plug the ez starter both lights come on green. Thanks for the help. O yea I tuned it back to factory tuning.

Is fuel getting to the carb ? Are you priming the engine ? Is the fuel pressure line connected ?

try taking off air filter and adjust carb for some more fuel to get in then leave it idling for a tank if it starts then you should be able to go back to factory tune thats what i had to do with my stepdads nitro rustler

I have been out of the nitro game for a long time and i'm not sure if this rule still applies but try taking the cooling head off and see if you can pull the piston sleeve out. If it pulls out really easy like so easy that it almost falls out if you turn the engine upside down that is usually a sign that the piston and sleeve are worn out and needs a new set.

That sounds like an extreme case of bad compression lol. But would definitely cause a no start condition. Basic principles of internal combustion engines is the "suck squeeze bang blow" and if it's missing one of those, it's not gonna start. Suck in the fuel/air, compress it, ignite it, blow it out the exhaust, in that order. Disconnect the fuel inlet, makes sure you're getting fuel. If you can easily turn the flywheel by hand with the glow plug installed, you're compression is shot. On a nitro engine, the flywheel should get harder to turn as the piston reaches top dead center.

Ya when I was in to Nitro 15 years ago if you can pull the piston sleeve out with your fingers with reletive ease it too worn and needs replacing. But always remember always replace both the sleeve and piston.

Pull the air filter and pore a small amount of nitro in the carb. If it fires then quits then replace fuel tubing and look up the base setting for the motor. Return to the base setting and go a full turn out on the high end needle. Don't mess with the low end needle or mid "if it has one" until you can get it to idle or run somewhat. You can leave the glow plug igniter on the glow plug while trying to get it to idle.

You can also place your finger over the exhaust while cranking it to draw file in. Weather will be a big factor for a motor out of tune. It will be difficult to start. Make sure after you get it running to let it warm up before adjusting.

I'm sorry I missed the part about the ez start and resetting the settings. You need to get ride of that wire that goes to the glow plug and buy an igniter.
