Get a coreless motor; I use a Tacon 3970KV motor, and it's nice and quiet, but even being "just" a 2-pole motor it still does backflips no problem. (for the record, I'm using a Trackstar 120-amp short course ESC -- it runs smoother than the stock ESC and costs half as much.)

I have an Integy wheelie bar that bolts to the underside of the rear skidplate, and has a single rubber wheel. (most wheelie bars for anything smaller than 1/10-scale use plastic wheels, which do nothing to help keep the vehicle moving in a straight line.) The wheelie bar is designed for "riding wheelies", as you describe it, but the mounting plate is just a piece of sheet-steel, so you could bend it down until the wheelie-wheel is nearly touching the ground. Keep in mind this will reduce your off-road clearance, though, but if you don't drive off-road then maybe you don't care.

I said nothing about the motor. The transmission will be quieter with the proper grease. How much quieter will depend on gear pitch and backlash on the gears, so in this case it may be negligible. I agree that a typical brushless motor will be loud and nothing other than different tech will fix that.

As for Rc Hobbiest asking questions, why do you think he needs to start a new thread? He's basically asking the same questions as the OP. There's no harm in expanding this thread some.
