Default Stripped spur gear on revo

Hi guys. Recently put lrp zr. 32 on my revo. Broken it in, ran about 6 or 7 tanks and stripped my spur. It looks evenly stripped and I had a good mesh. Could hear a little tap while holding CB and moving spur back and fourth. Also paper trick was good.
Could this simply be down to a lot more power from new engine?
If so, is a metal spur a good idea and also metal gears in tranny, if that's possible?

Any tips would be appreciated as I don't want to replace spur every time I take it out.

Thanks

Metal spurs are always a good idea. Robinson makes a good one. Potential issue going to metal is you have lengthened your breaking point beyond the spur, so if you lock up and keep throttling, more stuff breaks so when stuck, be careful...

I have ordered another plastic one. Going to run my slipper a little looser this time though. Probably was abit tight before. See how it goes
