Default Shock Weight Oil Advice

Hi,
I'm rebuilding my savage s-25 shocks which is a backyard basher that's running Losi's big bore blue shocks (the ones that came on the original LST). I'm looking for advice as to which weight shock oil I should run?

I don't do big air jumps (but I do jump some)...and it's a brushless truck now as well.

Thanks for the input!

Stock weight in LST shocks is 30wt and most LST guys go with more like 40wt. Savage is a bit lighter so the oil wt doesn't have to be as high. I'd say 30-35wt is probably what you want.

if you haven't done a rebuild in a while, your shock oil is going to be so dirty. when i rebuilt my traxxas big bore shocks, i was amazed at how dirty it really was. didn't look ilk oil anymore.

Wouldn't the savaage converted to brushless with two battery packs on it weigh more than the stock LST? Given that should I still use 35wt?

Well I have no idea what a Savage weighs in any trim, but a stock LST is around 13 pounds. I'd think your savage is a little lighter though. I listed the stock fluid weight to give you an idea of the fluid range you want to be in. It's also possible your shocks have the original fluid in them and you can base your decision on the trucks current handling as well.

Ok thanks for the clarification...makes sense.

For fun I did go weigh my savage just to see what it comes in at which my shipping scale...right about 14.5 pounds!
