Brushless Muggy
#16
Muney I plan on running 6s with a leopard 4092 motor and a mmm esc that i have laying around or a 150a hobbywing that i also have thats not being used rite now. Im a HUGE losi lst line fan i actually have been for about 7years and actually own 12 but this is my first muggy and so far i absolutely love it!!! It would be cool if savage would throw up a build thread and give guys a idea of what he builds hell seeing what other guys have built is half the fun of the hobby. I kinda get the idea that he use's a few different conversions like the 8ights and ? to make his motor mount but dont really get why its a "secret" when its parts you buy not parts that are being built by him but i may also be wrong but either way post up some pics and a build it would be cool to see the perfect muggy. Again i pretty much no nothing about the muggy other then its basically a lst2 with a cd but def anyone feel free to post some pics and advice up and thanks to all the guys who have helped and gave advice

One thing I did not notice being mentioned is the chassis flex. The muggy is prone to chassis flex. You can get an Inovative RC chassis which is thicker and higher grade aluminium
Or do a home mod
If you're into to home modding then you could do the rear shock flip which requires a part that is near non-existent now but possible to make.

Jerry, how's the build going? How about some pics of the build as you progress?
I don't think I've witnessed any kinda chassis flex, but again I don't jump the thing as it's my pride n joy..have the scte to do jumping duties
That home made fix going from front to back looks easy enough tho

For some reason rctech wont let me upload pics and i dont get why when i have done it plenty of other times but i tryed to upload pics of the build and it keeps saying upload un successful but once i get it figured out ill post some ive been thinking i may build my own motor mount as ive seen a lot lately that have custom mounts and they look nice if you look closely at pics above you will see a custom mount with the mmm motor but other then what mount im using its about done also i havent decided exactly what tires but ill do that after the build and i test them

Looking good! So what is the advantage of the mod that puts the shocks behind the rear shock tower?

just discovered this thread...LOL...this has been entertaining to read thru.
first off; savagefluxhpxl whatever name...i know that guy personally, he knows his stuff.
secondly; why the H can we all not find a body that fits the muggy well?
third; i'm running the 2200 and am less than impressed with it in mine...anyone try the 1700v xcelorin? i have one sitting here...figured it might be worth a try?
fourth; nice muggy build!

Thanks Lemon Its crazy I couldnt find a actual muggy body or tires up until recently but these things are hard as heck to find for some reason like shock towers I cant find any of them for the life of me and im just looking for parts "in case" i break i dont have to wait forever to get parts. I know you can use lst stuff but i want actual muggy items Also anyone who has done the rear shock swap was it worth all the extra work or just keep it as is? thanks again for all the info

The orange body is a f650 body and i cut it and it actually fits great and looks good as well so for now im just keeping a eye out for the hard to find parts that break but like you said Muney there hard to find good thing is the muggy is just as tough as it is rare

the only things I can think of that break..diffs..good to have spares of cases, crown and pinions etc etc..these are still available and also front knuckles..thats really about it..
the muggy in brushless form has to be the best basher IMHO..i will never depart with mine..love it! the way it soaks up bumps both large and small with those oversized shocks
you don't wanna break shock towers..once theyre gone..good luck in finding any..having said that, theyre tough as all hell, doubt you would break those
having said all that..from time to time, the odd roller does come up on ebay..just put it in youre watchlist
