Default Titan 12T vs. HPI 550 14.4 V

I switched from the 2 nimh packs to 2 2s Lipos and burned the brushes up within one set of packs. I have some Titan 12T motors but I don't want to toast them as well. any info is appreciated.
Thanks

Oh and new to THIS forum, happy friday!

The HPI motors specify 14.4V on the casing, do you mean the Titans? I went from two 7.2v NIMH to two 2s 7.2V LIPO batteries.

I would assume that setup is in parallel not series, so I'm guessing it would be too much voltage for the Titans. But I wonder why the 550's toasted so easily..

EDIT: this is on an E-Savage with a stock esc.

The esc internally wires the batteries in parallel. So the ESC sends out 14.4. The savage motor is rated for 14.4, not the 16.8 the two lipos make. The titan motors are for 3s lipo max.

I was thinking that the 2s lipos made 7.4v (not 7.2 as I stated in earlier post lol) x2 makes 14.8 ae a 4s battery how do you say they are 16.8? I'm a little confused there. Are the 7.4 lipos overcharged to 8.4?

max voltage on a 4s lipo is 16.8 volts or 4.2 volts per cell .
