Default Who makes a good set of 7075 bulks for the maxx?

FLM only has the 6061 listed and Im not sure where to buy a set. I dont want 6061 cause I had an old pair from proline and I pig holed the hinge pin holes.

I don't think you can equate one set of aluminum bulkheads to another in terms of quality based on alloy grade alone. FLM are widely regarded as some of the best available; their hybrid bulks can be had with a set of 1/8 diffs included in the package, while their direct replacement bulks are great as well. Perhaps others will share their input but I wouldn't discount FLM simply because they use 6061 grade aluminum.

Great Assembly will probably have the highest quality 7075's.

Well I do not think he was trying to put the FLM bulk down because of the 6061 material but for his case in point he would most definitely want the 7075 for the wear resistance of the aluminum. He wants a bulk where the holes will not round out as easy and the 7075 material will give him that extra resistance.

I second the GA bulk for its strength and integrity in the market. You can still buy them direct for $150 w/ Free Shipping for the entire set w/ braces.

I third the GA bulks. They are the only bulks I will run.

I have a set of the FLM hybrid bulks and I haven't even run them because I was not happy with the fit and finish of them. Don't get me wrong though, I love the FLM chassis', but I wasn't impressed with their bulks.

The 7075 material will offer almost double the strength of the 6061. The raw material also cost nearly double that of 6061 which is why not many places use 7075 for the rc parts.

I dont have the money to drop on them. I am more worried about rounding the holes in my Racer X suspension since its out of production.

Meh, I think with a good set of bulks and pins with some dry lube it will be okay. If it breaks it breaks but I think itll last a while. I just cant stop thinking about it. I am slowly selling some old stuff and gathering parts for the build. So far I have shocks, wheels, tires and suspensions arms on the way. All I need now is a 3908, a few lipos with a multi charger and a good set of bulks!

p.s. I found an old set of OTB tmaxx gears with very little use on them wonder what they are worth now?

Integy (stop laughing) makes hard-anodized, forged 7075 bulkheads for the Maxx as well.

I ran the fronts in my Maxx till I moved to FLM Hybrid Bulks for buggy diffs. They held up great, even though the hings pins sometimes didn't. Very tough.

As far as a standard style bulkhead goes, you wont find any better quality than the GA 7075.
