Default T Maxx 2.5 transmission ?

I am rebuilding a TMAXX 2.5 classic with a reverse transmission. I was trying to part it since I got it cheap, but couldn't find buyers. So I have rebuilt everything but the engine and electronics. The issue is when I spin the spur, in reverse or forward, it doesn't spin the drive shafts. I am used to my axial and slayer and they both do. does the tmaxx classic transmission need to be driven faster than hand speed to work. I know the output gears have pawls. Do I need to adjust or replace something, or just get the engine in the truck?

Thanks

They have to be spun faster than that . There is a finger in the gear just like the 2spd gear that grabs . I think this is part of the reason these dont last when you put bigger engines on them . Install a forward only kit in it and that will help .

Thanks. Kind of what I figured. I got this from a guy who tore it apart and couldn't fix it. I am just repairing it and selling it, so the next owner can change the transmission if they are so inclined. I just want it running to sell.
