Default What is wrong with my Traxxas Monster Jam Grave Digger?

Go to Youtube and go to the channel named Dudedudemoney and go to uploads then scroll down until you see ' What is wrong with my Traxxas Monster Jam Grave Digger? '

Watch this, it explains it all. Sorry I am kinda shy so I don't talk really loud. So you may need to turn your volume up. I'm not to newbie to RC's I used to race really old Kyosho when I was like 8 then I stopped until this Halloween (monday) I went out and bought a Traxxas Grave Digger for 225$ and now it doesn't work? 4 days of fun.. I am reaching out to the RC community cause I have no clue what's wrong.

Here is your video:

You either have a stripped spur gear or stripped transmission gears. My guess is the spur gear is stripped since all the transmission gears are metal. Take the gear cover off and see if the teeth on the plastic spur gear are all burred over or missing.

+1 to a stripped out spur.

You said it happened when you took a jump, thats when your motor/pinion moved away from the spur. In the manual it says to go through the whole truck and make sure everything is tightened up before use. Fortunately for you, it will only cost you $3 for a new spur.

I bet you the motor backed away from the spur. This exact same thing happined to a kid here locally. The hobbyshop guy went and found another spur then sat down to fix it and removed the cover to find it backed itself off.

I bet you the motor backed away from the spur.
That's why I modified my gearbox, it will not move and the 3mm alloy plate helps dissipate heat

Just use washers on your motor screws and a tiny dot of blue loc tight, then tighten really snugg. No need to re-invent the wheel lol! Nice mod though should last a few crashes.
