Default New to Nitro

Hey guys, i just bought my first nitro truck, The Revo 3.3. I got it used, but the owner said the engine was new and already broken in and Its in great condition besides all of the dirt I have a question about the engine. This may be a stupid question but is this the TRX 2.5 or 3.3 engine? Thanks Other beginner tips about Nitro would also be appreciated.

A Picco? Does this engine have the same performance as the 3.3?

I think it's a .26 so yes, lots more power. 3.3cc vs. 4.27cc of the Picco.

just play it safe through a few tanks and dont run it to lean, if its not fully broken in you can finish the process this way.

If you can roll the engine over with a finger on the flywheel, then the engine is broke-in. If you can't that doesn't mean it isn't but means it has alot of compression. Only way to realy know is take the engine apart and check to see if the piston pushes the sleeve out of the case..

By looking at the pic I'd say it s broke-in or close.. Just run it a bit rich don't go WOT for extended times and you'll be okay..

IN 3-4 tanks of fuel, you can prolly lean the engine out an hour or 2 more and get all the power out of that motor..

Sorry for this question, but wheres the flywheel located at? Is it that silver wheel on the lower left handed side of the engine that looks like a spur gear? Thanks

You might want to go to the hobby store and get some help when you start this..

I assumed you had some experience, but not knowing what a flywheel is, tells me you're going to need help..

judging from the motor mount I also am leaning towards it being a picco .26. when that motor hits it's peak it will scream. but I would also say goto your lhs and get some help and advice before tring to start it for the first tume.

Thanks for the suggestion guys, but I've already started this truck by using a Hobbico Torqmaster Starter on the Flywheel. I just wanted to know if the motor was broken in so i could start bashing it hard
Also is it better to run rich or lean?

These two sentences tell us you need to get some help with this, honestly, find someone that has some experience to get that motor tuned, and explain the ins and outs of tuning it, or it wont run for very long..
