Questions?? what other upgrades can i do to my flux and e revo?

my flux has just a number minor upgrades...tcs plates,xl axles, integy rear hubs....and the divey mod... i was looking on the lst upgrade shocks..but do they really make a difference? i bash alot on it...

and basically just recently got my e revo brushless again...so i dont know where to start with the it...

what upgrades is a have to...or would be a great thing to go with ?

Kind of open. Buy every bolt on option that some call "custom" you want. All the Tony's screws, all the integy, all the REM, all the FLM, all the RPM, all the STRC, all the Vantage, all the "ETC". and all the flea bay no-names you can afford.

Keep bashing, if it breaks, upgrade it, if it doesn't, it doesn't need upgrading.

I'd change out to a more reliable esc first.

With the Flux (and pretty much any RC), I'd say that there's a few essential upgrades that you should do and will really help performance and durability, alot that you can do but aren't essential and absolutely loads that you could do but are completely and utterly useless, unless you're making a tacky shelf queen..

You've already got a couple of the essentials, with the rear hubs and decent TVPs. Have to admit I have no idea what the "divey mod" is! Anyone..?!

These are other essentials, IMO, with part numbers/links-
-HD drive gear 18-23T (HPI 102514), replaces tranny gear that's made of cheese!
-HD servo saver spring (HPI 102522), stops all the fiddling with the S/S tensioner.
-Steering bearings (HPI B045 or any 6x10x3mm bearings).
-Aluminium joint bars (Edit ED010581), get rid of weak plastic ones.
-Alza Racing bulkhead brace conversion kit http://www.alza-racing.com/alza/prod...?id_product=23 replaces the weak cast braces with CNC'd alloy ones and more, which are much beefier and take a massive beating.

Personally, I've got the full HPI suspension conversion kit (HPI 87245) on my flux, which I consider an essential too, and it improves the handling and strength a great deal. Integy do similar alloy hubs/knuckles for the front end, but they don't have the raked angle that the HPI's do and weigh more.. Apparently they're stronger though.

Non essential, but decent upgrades (sorry, I can't be bothered to put link/part numbers on everything, I'll be here all day!!)-

-HPI sway-bar kit. Great handling upgrade but not great for heavy jumping.
-Alloy BB shocks. TBH there's not a great deal of difference, but they're a bit smoother and ultimately stronger. Expensive though..
-HPI Hellfire alloy shock caps.
-HPI heavy duty cup joints (HPI 86277/86276). Much harder wearing than the stock ones.
-Alza Racing or GCM alloy battery box mounts (not sure which is cheaper for you in the U.S)
-Edit Titanium diff cross shafts (ED070030). Very strong diff cross pins.
-Hot Bodies Lightning hardened steel differential gears. Much longer life than the stock spider/planet gears.
-HPI 39T High speed idler gear. Machined hardened steel tranny gear, gives taller gearing/higher speeds/longer life than stock, good for use with low KV motors, or for speed runs on tarmac with the stock motor. If you're bashing with the stock motor (or anything 1800kv+) on rough stuff, then change the pinion size down or you'll have probs with overheating.
-Alza Racing servo plate, either standard or jumbo. Gets rid of stock radio box, lighter, stronger, jumbo one lets you use large scale servo. Use with a Traxxas Rustler R/X box mounted to it.
-Robinson Racing GEN3 slipper unit. Proper slipper clutch that works well and takes brushless power.
-Alza Racing slipper locker. If you don't want to muck about with the slipper or have the added weight of the Robinson.
-GH Racing alloy steering assembly. Takes play out of the steering and stronger than stock plastic bits.
-HPI or Lunsford Racing titanium steering turnbuckles, or complete Lunsford steering kit (rod ends, turnbuckles, ball studs).
-Alza Racing motor mounts. Much more solid than the stock ones.
-Alza Racing motor plate. Again, more solid than stock.
-Platinum RC do a very good wing mount out of Carbon Fibre if you want to stick a wing on the back.
-HPI lightweight/hardened steel 29T idler and 32T drive gears for the tranny (HPI 8627586274). Complete the hardened gear set in the tranny, not sure if there's much benefit in them THB, but I'm testing a set at the moment!

Alza will also make the TVP's, bash guards, servo and motor plates in Carbon Fibre now, as do Platinum RC. No idea how much they Alza ones cost yet, but probably cheaper than PRC's.

Right.. I'll stop there! Hope that helps and that I've not waffled too much.

Lawrence

Forgot about the LST shocks... I've tried running them, don't do it!!

They add a MASSIVE amount of weight to the truck, especially when you factor in the fitting kit, and most of the weight is high up on the truck so the centre of gravity is raised and the truck becomes more likely to role. When I had a set of the alloy ones on my nitro savvy, with the Innovative RC fitting kit, I put it on the scales, and it was ~600g heavier than it was with the HPI Alloy BBs with alloy caps on

They're longer than the normal savvy shocks too, so you have to put spacers on the inside on the shafts, to shorten the travel and lower the ride height back to norm. That's not such a biggy.

Strength wise they're not great either, even with the optional Titanium shafts they bend quite easily with heavy bashing.
