1st of all, I really got tired of tunning that carb. Then at the middle school that my daughter goes to has an rc club. Yup with their own track. but can't run nitro so instead of paying $8 bucks to run at a local track I'll convert and play for free. Hee hee. Now my daughter and I play together. One more reason it keeps me in the garage and out of the wife. Did I say wife I meant house whatever. Lol

I have been running the sct 2400kv system on mine with a 23t pinoin 58t spur, and 68t spur they both run great. With no problem.

I hear that, my 4 year old son has been helping me every step of the way. I got my T-Maxx on a super deal with a busted 2.5 motor and it needed some work, but I knew that buying the truck.

Are you using the optidrive trans or the old style trans. If your using the old style trans where did you get your spurs. What speeds do you get with your setup, and how is the torque. I want a good balance, 35-40mph and torque you would expect out of a monster truck.

I started with a 1.5 old Tmaxx that was converted to .21 extended chassis. Its been updated with all the emaxx brushless spec. Including the BL trans, that I adapted to fit.

The speed with both spurs is badass! I think I like the 68t spur better. Im not sure the speed but with ballooned duratrax warhead tires I can not top it out. I say 40+ mph. Part of the speed is the ballooned tires if your running the chevrons the 58t spur might be better.

sounds pretty fun, I just ordered a 19, 21, 23 pinions and a 64, 66, 70 spur to play around with.

What bodies does everyone have? I just picked up the Jconcepts 1980 Chevy 1500

I Put a slash bug body on mine. Fits great and I made the rear lower then the front. In a roll over a couple of throttle/brake it will flip itself over!!!

Thanks man. My grey trans couldnt hold up either in stock form, steel gears solved that tho. It's deff fun to have something a bit unique, not too many converted t's.

Havent been to critters in forever it seems. I really wanna try the new layout, im just always doing something. I work night shift and sleep in the afternoon, so wed nights are pretty tough, not to mention I'm working 6 days a week. It sucks as far as trying to have a life goes.

How has your drive shafts been holding up with the BL motor. Should I buy CVD's all the way around. Also are the traxxas CVD's part # 5451R compatible with the t-maxx 2.5 w/o optidrive. Haven't been able to find a good answer and thanks in advance.

BTW still no parts in the mail yet so pics are still on hold.

The center to rear driveshaft takes a beating. The center set should be replaced first. I haven't had any issues with the ones from the diffs to the wheels. In fact I'm pretty sure they are still the factory ones that came with the truck when I bought it new over a year and a half ago.

Doh! moment, you have a 2.5, I have the 3.3 truck with the revo spec axles. So yours may infact need beefing up.

I use a dog bone from a 1/8th scale buggy for the rear driveshaft. Its held up great. I will try to find the part number.
