My issues with LRP are from my own experiences, I get what your saying though.

Loose translation to this statement basically is that he has none(experience).

You have to look out for the leaky front bearing on the lrp's, I know 4 blokes who have had the problem from break in. They are a good engine though.

Haha nice dude. I have seen the first viid before the second one is new to me lol.. I was actually thinking maybe buying a new 454 for my xxl and sending that out to abmods and having that modded.. what do u guys think? I wanna get something with. Crazy power when this one stops running. And I was thinking since the stock 454 was a pretty sick engine im sure that a modded 454 would be pretty sick too. Any ideas?

Why wouldn't you just get a decent engine, then think about mods

and when u say a decent angine, what would that be? cause as far as i know from my experience, the 454 is a pretty cheap engine, and works great, and the lrp is pretty much the same as the 454.. ive been told the picco .28 is a good motor but not that great when top end comes into play, it has alot of bottom end grunt, but not much for top end.. so whats a decent engine?
seems like everyone is using the lrp, and picco engines mostly

The picco .28 is far from lacking on the top end, especially if you are going to spend the money to modify it....

I had a 454 that lasted 11 gallons until a bearing went bad. It's technically a .27 sized motor. Mine still has a decent amount of pinch and held a tune for freakin ever. There's a turbo head conversion kit on horizon that makes it scream even more. I replaced it with the dynamite "big red" .28 in my truggy, 5 gallons in and it screams as well. Best $149 I ever spent.

For my custom built maxx I posted, there's tons of dremel type fab mods, it wasn't a simple kit type assembly. I've also got an interesting shock setup.. a lot of trial and error to get the performance I wanted. I'm using 4 ofna ultra shocks with 20wt oil and modified trinity xxxtra hard springs to fit. And 4 traxxas big bores with no springs as dampeners with 50wt oil. I used fuel tubing on the shafts inside the shock bodies to get the proper ride height, low and mean. Kinda of like the old proline dual rate setup without the dual springs. It took a lot of time to find the proline steering kit, and other bits because I took the retarded route of building an all aftermarket truck just two years ago from parts that were popular about 10 years ago (3906). I didn't go the ultra exotic supermaxx route either, I wanted an ultimate basher, and succeeded.

Good top end it has stock, its just not quite as good as my 30x. Its definetly broken in now, just playing with pipe combos to see if I can find one thats better suited for it.
