Be like expecting a Turbo charged WRX Motor to push around an F350.

It will push the maxx pretty good, but is not a good idea.
MMM and forget about it.

Ive done it. On one 2s and geared easy. I thouht it was a step up from stock. Sell the VXL and buy a XERUN 80A combo. Its more than enough

I have a vxl setup in a kyosho twin force. I was honestly very impressed with how it pushed a monster truck. Its kind of a mud truck and i wanted something water proof. I geared it down pretty good, but even with big ol lst tires it does a heck of a job. Just gear very conservatively and watch your temps.

Ive done it and its a step up, but you can get around $100 for a VXL set up on here. You can get a Xerun 80A 2250kv combo for $130 and it will run your E Maxx very hard. Ive been running the Xe 80A in my E Maxx for ever. I started with a cheap brushless 2 pole 3674 motor from Kershaw Designs and it was very fast(35-40mph) and enough torque on 4s to do back flips all day. I stepped up to a Tork 2200kv (Castle/Nue 2200) now. But you really should look into selling it and adding a few bucks for a 1/8 set up. It will run much harder and last alot longer. Again...Ive done the VXL/E Maxx thing. Its good, but you will drasticly shorten the life of the VXL. Its alot of stress on the motor. On 3s you will shurly kill it sooner or later. Heres a few cheap set ups

Shop around, use Google. There some cheap stuff out there that runs great. Hobbywing SC8 combo would be a huge step up

it will work just fine, just don't expect serious pick up on mph. Torque will still be better than stock though. I say since you have it, give it a go.
