Have been running my OS30VG ES on my Savage for over 5 gallons now, lots of power and never once over heat. Minimum or at all tuning required when tuned.

OS, they make good engines.

I've run the 30 VG and find it boring. I would say the 454 is a better engine. Try a Picco .28 modded from Clockworks, I think you'll change you're mind on picco products...It will absolutely slaughter a .30VG! If you were thinking of the VG, I would save alot of money and buy an Axial.

VG is a mild mill. If you want something with real nutz out of the box, go with an LRP .30x with a spinstart plate. Picco .28 would be the next choice.

Os vg only lasted about 3 gallons before needing new piston and sleeve. Not that powerful. picco rb nova lrp .28 are faster and stronger.Usually os are good motors but .30vg sucks.

Well said!

Mine is at the 6 gallons mark now, and it's as strong as day 1, have not even service it yet from day one as don't feel needs to, it's as powerful as day one too.

Real thing, not a make up story.

A not so close friend had a LRP28 or 30 in his Savage 25, broke it's con rod in less than a gallon of running, sleeve and piston is undamaged though.

Or may be he's just unlucky.

Im gonna be nice and not call you out for your little "bitch ass" comment. But I have no need to lie about the crappy os motor I had. Not to mention the old os .18 that I had on a rs4 that had a junk carburetor. Maybe I had a dud but, I sure as hell know it didnt last no wheres near 8 gallons. Anyways. I was just trying to give the guy my experience with the motor.

X2! I love the 454. Cheap (on ebay) powerful, good RPM, decent fuel economy... Perfect! I've got two spares sitting on hand. My XXL 454 has 5 gallons of neglect and abuse on it, and it still runs like a champ. Plus, 454 is a way-cool name for an engine.
