Default T-maxx 2.5 to Brushless

Yes I am late to the T-maxx game. I traded a slash for a 2.5 T-maxx with the intention of parting the maxx out, but to be honest I like this truck, really like this truck. I have run a few tanks through it and it is a hoss of a ride. So I started thinking about a brushless conversion on it. From what I have read I have 2 options. 1 is to buy an e-maxx tranny and chassis, the other is to buy or make a motor mount and get the single speed and FOC kits for the tmaxx tranny. This process, being new to me poses a few questions.

1. Which of these two would be the preferred way to go?
2. What is a good cheap motor to pick up for this. I have a VXL3s and Venileon 3500 motor but am not sure if that would be powerful enough.
3. What size lipos should I be looking at? If I can use the VXL setup I can reuse my 2S lipos (Bonus for being cheap)

1. Going with the E-Maxx chassis and transmission would be the easiest route, solves motor mounting and battery placement issues.

2. The Velineon is not powerful enough to move the E-Maxx. For bang for the buck, look for a EZRun 150A ESC and the 4465SL 2000 kV motor.

3. You can run two 2S LiPos in a series to provide 14.8V to a 1/8 scale brushless system. The Velineon ESC can't take more than a 3S.

Heres the VXL system. I have an extra laying around and think Im getting me a emaxx here soon, this would be perfect for a nice larger backyard basher.

Holy crap!!!! I wonder if the Tmaxx 2.5 Diffs and Tranny would handle it?

One of the many sources I am looking at. Seems easy enough to try.
