After building a BL capable drive train under my 3906, I've run a couple of brushless setups. I ran a Feiago 8XL with a Quark 125b on 2 x 2S lipos. That ran hot regardless of the wide range of gearing I tried. But I now know temps were due to the cheap Feiago motor with its high inefficiency.
I ran a Tekno-Neu 1515 1Y next with the Quark and it was a much better combo. Thats the same as a Castle 2200. My last brushless setup was the Castle 2200 combo, I didn't like the Quark, it tended to be flaky and run hot after a long run. The CC2200 was trouble free and ran cool.
