Default need help on my brand new SAVAGE FLUX HP! please! is this normal?

upon opening my new flux out of the box, and first thing i did, was install some 4s lipos...and just gave it a test run in front on my house, in the street.... nothing full throttle, when i notice when pressed on throttle, it has this loud weird sound, sort of sounds like when grinding nails on a chalk board...is this normal? my E revo brushless never made this sound...the sound it would make like a winding noise..not this savage..... sounds sort of grinding...

i mean, its brand new, is this a normal sound?????

The all metal tranny in the Flux is going to make noise, its normal. To be sure, check your pinion/spur mesh and make sure its correct and also check and make sure your diffs spin smooth with no grinding. Also, did you check the diffs for oil? They tend to leak in the box.

Oh and also crank down your slipper clutch nut all the way

Gotta pull apart the front of the bulkheads, take out diffs and take them apart to do that.

Glad you figured it out and got it fixed. Sounds like somebody at the factory wasn't doing their job right....

You could prob call HPI and they'd replace them under warranty.

i might do that..cuz i mean, i knew it wasnt normal with that ugly grinding noise...and i wouldnt have found out if the pinion didnt get chewed up.....in a way im happy it did, cuz now that i fixed it, it sounds better and less noise and reacts much better!

The pinion /spur is prob something you should routinely check, I check mine before every run, that way you catch probs early.
