I heard that it will be pricey, something about the esc being $600 by itself, but I would have clarify that...

Maybe including the motor.....the air Phoenix Ice HV (12S/50volts and 200amps) is only $350. I'd expect the car version to be a little more expensive, but not $600 for just the esc.
They can keep it if that's the price, I'll use the Phoenix Ice HV like others running their conversions now are doing. Heck, I'd rather have 12S anyway....

I was really excited until I heard it was definitely a pricey conversion.

motor and esc
At least make it feasible for the average guy to buy! I would say $600 for kit would be practical. With today's economy that things going to kick start some divorces. LOL!!

This says the MSRP is $650 for the esc and that 3 pound motor. Don't think they be selling for full price, nothing else does. Time will tell what street price will be.

Castle provided an update on RCM - the 1st batch of escs will be be finished next week and they are waiting for the motors to arrive from the Castel motor plant in China.

$650 for the motor/esc
$150 for the conversion
$200-$400 for lipos
Its a pretty pricey conversion for the baja, for that sort of money you could get a killer modded gas engine and pipe and still have change.

Already have lipos. I will wait for some answers from RC Monster on using their conversion versus this one, but will need one or the other. Prob wait for some feedback on this conversion and the motor anyway.
I live in the city and have to travel quite a ways to go somewhere to run my 5T because if the noise. It would get a lot more use if it was elec.
Have you priced a 22XX series Nue? 2215 is $579 alone, this is a bargain even if its full MSRP (which it won't be...).

Thats fine, but I've been plenty pleased with the Castle-Neu motors I have (1515, 1518, 1717) and expect this one will be no diff. I may wait for the XL HV version esc rumored due next spring.
Here's some more detail from RCM and Castle -
There were no real details, but there's a comparison of a 1515 vs their new 2028 in here -

Here's a similar comparison of the rotors of the two -

This thing is big!! It's 750kv 1Y with a 40krpm limit, Castle suggests running it
25-30krpm as a practical limit.
