Default Traxxas Summit + MMM on 6S = Tire shredder!!!

Converted my Summit to be more of a racer...
2200kv Motor
MMM ESC
E-Revo P1 Rockers
18/54 Gearing
2 X 3S Lipo's

I just wanted to see what tires you guy's were using for high speed runs. I made the mistake of not removing these tires and strapping them. I was at about 75% throttle and the rear right just exploded. Traxxas Tires are pretty soft in general.

I would like to keep the geode rims, will 40 series tires fit these rims?
Here are some pics

nice truck!
it must have been nuts with those tires when you started to go fast!

i'd go with the hpi phlatlines for high speed.
could try the erbe tires on those rims , not much else will fit the rims but traxxas or some imex tires because of the way the tire needs to slide inwards into the bead on each side. if you are lucky enought to get all the tire out of the channel

Thank you, yeah it was absolutely nuts the power this thing puts to the ground. Mid run I can hit the gas and completely flip it. i couldnt imagine this thing at 60+. Would have to run it at the airport.
I will check out those Tires or maybe just stay with 4S
Maybe some Traxxas Maxx Tires like I had but Gorrila Tape the inside and some molded foams.

I noticed that these tires are pretty soft. I don't remember if those are the same that the Tmaxx 3.3 comes with anymore, but a buddy of mine with a Tmaxx 3.3 had the rear right side do the same thing in a dirt parking lot. He was in a powerslide about 3/4 throttle and I don't know if the tranny shifted to second gear or what, but all I heard was a "thwoop" sound and there was a cloud of dust and gravel that was shot 8 feet into the air. Turns out the tire blew out with a V shape cut on the contact patch all the way to the rim.

HAHAHA!! I just did this with my ERBE with stock tires. Posted some pics in the REVO thread. Yeah, stock tires are thin and weak. Good for a stock brushed Revo probably. Can't handle the MMM and 6S though.
