Still looking for a TNX????
Hello, I just created my account today. Came across your post. I know it from 2/28/10. I have a very nice TNX 3.0 converted to Brushless. Lots of upgrades and very clean build. Let me know if your still in market.?

big bores on tnx
looks like this thread is pretty much dead but i'll ask anyways.
i just re-acquired a tnx 3.0 because i miss the 1st one i sold way back when. anyhow, does anyone know which big bores would fit the tnx? i used to have the proline powerstrokes on my original tnx but apparently those shocks are no longer in production. i was thinking of using 4 big bores instead of the 8 shock setup. maybe the traxxas big bore shocks would work?

Hi guys, just joined the forum. I live in South Africa. I've had my TNX 5.2R for about 2yrs now. Good solid MT.
I blew my engine when a conrod broke, so i fitted a OS vg30 engine. Works quite well.
Got tired of back yard bashing and started racing against the 1/8 truggies, at a track in Pretoria. Those truggies(hyper, Losi, GS) are much quicker and lighter than my MT. Sorted some reliability issues out, and fitted tyres with porqupine noblies. Sunday i raced again, i came 3rd and 4rth place between all the races. Over all i finished 3rd place.
I would have done better but i think the one way bearing in the gearbox is giving me problems. The car just suddenly stops moving, the engine runs and the clutch works fine, If i drop the truck hard while idling something kicks back in and off it go's again.
Has anybody had that problem?
Do you oil that one way bearing, or must it be dry?
Should i replace it or clean it?
