Default Pipe for Axial .32

Hi, Just trying to find out what is a good pipe to run with the Axial .32 motor.

Will the JP-4 pipes be ok for this motor or should I be looking for something else.

I am building a twin engine truck with twin .32 motors and just looking for a pipe that will work really well with this type of motor.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I had that motor on my Savage with a savage XL pipe and header. It seemed to work pretty good for me and I ran it on 30% nitro.

What kind of truck are you building? I built a savage with twin Mach 427 motors and a three speed tranny. Even in third gear it was non-stop wheelies. The only problem I had was that even with heavy duty diffs with aluminum cups all that power just kept destroying the diffs. I would get about two tanks of fuel ran through it and snap goes the diffs.

the best pipe is what will fit your application and then you also can choose torque or high rpm depending on what you want to do...bla, bla, bla...normal answers you know. different fuels will act best with some pipes too if you really want to make it complicated.

ah yes...blowing the diffs in savage x, i know what you mean.
you don't even need two motors or a full tank of gas if you do it right!

best i've seen soo far is all flux drive line, inside of metal diff housings, ( the flex is what is the biggest killer of the gears)
check the bearings like...every run...then after that we need to find a way to put a diff from 1/5 mt or GEO tracer into the savage. lol

Hello there. For an all out pipe you might want to look here http://www.extremercmods.com/?page=pipes

I have been testing one with great results. I also recommend the new hpi bulletproof diffs. They have much bigger teeth and a bigger bearing on the ring gear. They are a replacement for the hpi hd ones that came in the flux and xl. I just switched out the stock xl diffs for the BP ones in mine.

Don't waste your time with all kind of HPI drive line system.
The only thing to do with the savage is to put CEN Genesis diffs on it.
The mod is so simple to do, and after that, never diffs problems

With my stock XSS diffs, i've exploded gear in it twice in 1 gallon with the stock K4.6.

And with the CEN diffs in it, and an RB TM928 and after 2 1/2 gallons, never touch the diffs.

Look at ebay, the CEN diffs is relatively easy to find.,

What all has to be done to install the CEN diffs. I heard about this before but never heard what all had to be done in order to install them. Thanks.

ok, great do you have one we can see? i would love to find something that can take extra punishment!
do you swap out the ring and pinion gear? because the actual diff i never break, it's the teeth on the pinion gear i shear off then it malls up the ring gear. i have to swap them out as a set anyways.
what is all changed for the cen diff upgrade?

just the diff?
what about the pinion?
you sound unclear, nothing is ever that siple!
it doesn't cure the problem of the plastic housing deflecting and making your gears skip and the the teeth break because they are tiing to ride up on each other.
metal housings help alot! just they are jobber and it's hard to find a good one that you can shim the diff to turn smooth and i think that is hurting gear life now.
you can never win it seems,
if you try to make something idiot proof...
somebody comes out with a better idiot!

x2 on the extreme rc mods pipe. Best pipe money can buy. Running it on a Modded Picco .28.

Short of that the ofna 086 pipe probley your next best option.

As far as the cen diffs yes it is just the ring and pinon and they bolt right up to the stock savage diff cup. I recomend the new HPI bullet proof diffs though they are actually stronger than the cen diffs.

Also do you already have the motors because a good lrp .28 or picco .28 will smoke any axial anyday of the week and buying two axial's you could get a modded picco .28 for less and have more top and bottom end.

The hpi bulletproof diffs are pretty beefy.

Thanks for all the replies.
I am going with a JP-1 pipe.
The axial .32 motors are going to be fully modded and the JP-1 pipe will work a lot better with this mod.
I am using Hot Bodies running gear to handle the power of these two engines.
Cheers.

i've never seen one before

i now you have to change the both because the ratio is not the same,
but do they recommend the new # housing because it will not fit the old?
it looks more than beefy....it's massive

oh and thanks for the post about your pipe,
glad to hear it worked out for you.

They recommend replacing both diffs at the same time. The ratio is very close but would bind. I would recommend running these with aluminum diff cups. Everything needed to convert is included such as grease and shims.
