Default HPI E-Savage vs Traxxas E-Maxx

Getting back into RC trucks. Which of the two is a better choice?

What do you plan on doing with the truck? Racing, Bashing, Both?

Just bashing in the yard or at the park. I really don't have time for racing right now.

Both are great bashers... Ide personally choose the savage though. I think its more durable. Both trucks are about equal though really, see what parts your local hobby shops keeps on hand and go with that one.. Both trucks have tons & tons of aftermarket goodies available..

Savage! I hit a concrete block with my Flux pretty much head on and came away with nothing but some scratches. Its a great basher. My Emaxx would not have been as lucky.

the E-Savage is a rebadged E-Zilla and shares nothing in common with the standard 1/8 Savages.

Still a nice truck if left stock, drop the motors down from 20t to 18t pinions and add heatsinks and you're set.

if you can, get the flux. it is THE toughest electric truck you can get. if you can't get the flux, wait and save up so you can get one. if you MUST get either the e-savage or the e-maxx, the e-maxx is a little bit better, but not by much. the durability is lower, but the drivetrain is a little better. the flux drivetrain is near bulletproof and completely bulletproof once you get the upgrades diff gears.

the e-savage/zilla is a great truck. it shares the same basic design as the 1/8 savage but almost nothing is really interchangeable which sucks. the e-maxx is a t-maxx though so that's one thing to consider. better parts support (although the savage is still easy to get parts for either way).

my zilla is very very very very durable. it is on par with my 1/8 savages. unless you do something really really stupid you wont break it.

i vote savage for basher
