I run Dual 4S 3000mah packs in parallel for 4S 6000mah total. Why you may ask? HobbyCity did not have any 2S packs in stock at that time.

But thats balanced on the truck, right? One lipo on each side.

So its not the prob running a single 4S on one side would create with balance.

You CAN fit a 4s pack in the tray if capacity is around 3700mah or lower. You would probably want to run 2 x 4s however since a single pack may not safely provide enough current unless C rating is high (30-40). I myself have run dual 5s 3200mah packs in mine.

Yeah that's correct. My post was directed at those saying a 4s would not fit in the battery box.

Good to know a 5s will also fit.

These last few posts have been talking about running a pair of these wired in parallel (not series) so the voltage stays the same and the capacity is doubled.....

rclipos.com have a few 4s packs that will fit. The limiting factors on the savage flux are typically height (50mm) and width (30mm). My 5s packs are 148 x 49 x 31.5 and 3200 mah each. . As you can see you can actually squeeze in a slightly wider pack if you keep length down to about 160mm.

5s 3200mah at rchobbiesandmore.com. very pricey

Find some 4s 3700 at rclipos.com/PolyRC25C.htm"
