i would get os 28 xz. The power of it is just insane. It is a bit pricey, but I think it is worht every penny.

I would suggest running the stock engine till it starts showing signs of dying on you and then looking around for a replacement. Unless, of course, you want to have a spare engine handy should something happen to your stock one. Normally a properly operated engine would last 8-10 gallons of fuel. Depending on how often and how much you are going to run your truck that could translate into quite a long time. There might be something new on the market at that point.

P.S. Also, I wanted to apologize to all of you guys for abusing linking threads to my online store. It's a new beginning that cost me a lot of sweat and time, I guess I got overly anxious and excited about it. It started with being obsessed with RC monster trucks about 6 years ago and led me to opening a track and a store just recently. Hope you'll understand.

The new RB .28 is supose to be pretty good also, but I have not gotte to try it yet.
Yah, I wanna try that new Rb MT engine, or a modded picco .28 p/s

I would recommend running the 454 for now. I have a few friends running this motor and it seems pretty strong. I believe it will give you plenty of power and seems to hold its tune well. This motor loves 30% fuel and a cold plug. Sees to run well @ about 220-240 degrees. These are just suggestions so take it at that and enjoy your new truck.
