He isn't 'promoting' the better truck, that's strictly based on opinion as in all reality no truck is really 'better' than another when it comes to the three main brands in MT, Losi, Traxxas, and HPI. Trying to make a quick buck off a newbie knowing he's looking for a new vehicle is all he is doing, and a XXL is much more expensive than a Savage.

dude your mis reading what i said...i basicly was saying he's promoting the better truck based on OPION...so in his opion that is the better truck out of the 2 i never said which truck was better i dnt wanna get in to all of that its a waste...

xxl is more expensive because it comes with a way better radio and servos which any one will upgrade any way so your paying for quality...

i dont have a hobby shop etc but i will quickly steer any one to the lst2-or xxl there awsome trucks and very easy to work on expeicily since you dont have to take out the motor and other bs to change a spur...damn near take the whole truck apart to get out a diff or something..so the xxl is very newb friendly

I agree to the T... The XXL in my mind is a great first time MT. Wide open layout, plenty of room for fixes, tuning, etc. I did a lot of side by side comparo between the Savage XL and the LST-XXL. The XXL im my opinion is easier to work on by far. I like the engine and the controller set-up. Im not a newbie to MT's or R/C period. Just a newbie to Nitro. I don't think I'll have any issues with the transition over to nitro. With me having access to forums, my LHS, and friends I'm sure I won't have any problems. Thanks guys for looking out.

My LHS sells the LST-XXL for 588.00 plus tax. A very good price compared to others I've seen. Larry's Performance R/C's in michigan.

The LST based trucks are super easy to work on. You dont have to remove more than 4 screws to get to the diffs, tranny, and motor.

The Savage has a super high center of gravity and by what I have heard, the side plates suck and bend easily.Tiny shocks and weak shock shafts is what kept me away.

LST XXL all the way. I have unfortuneatley owned all of the MTs out there pretty much and have sold or traded them all of for the next one. I can firmly say that I have gotten more excitement, pleasure, wheel time, and all around uptime for a vehicle with my LST. I have a LST and a AFtershock both converted to brushless and would never look at any of the other platforms again. I love how easy it is to work on, how clean the layout is, and how much of a beating the truck can take and just keep coming back for more. That is box stock.

Im sure as time goes by and I add some hopups here or there it will only make the truck that much better. Oh, and Im in the market for a XXL to add to my LST stable haha.

Well I have run both trucks in question..... I am not sure I am 100% sold on either one to be honest...... The Losi does handle better(night and day better) and definitely has nicer equipment..however I can't say I am overly impressed with the 454, it has decent power but the tune takes a dump once it gets heat soaked...the all aluminum carb seems to get too hot and boils the fuel...resulting in high idling after a high speed pass and carrying the high idle for a couple of seconds till it cools off..... And the bad thing is I have seen this now on 3 different 454's that I have worked with..they all do the same thing... coincidentally my LRP 30 also does this... As well this last weekend one of the XXL's broke its rear diff, it was not being beaten on, it was just taking some relaxed laps on the track...stock engine and all.............. So yes the XXL is a pretty nice driving machine for a MT, but if the diffs are weak then I have an issue, as nothing annoys me more then breaking diffs....... The Savage is also very prone to breaking diffs and its handling is horrible, the RTR engines are pretty lame and the included electronics suck......
