LST XXL all the way and I wouldn't even look back. In my opinion it's the best overall MT platform if you look at value vs performance vs quality. For $535.99 how can you go wrong?

Yeah I'm leaning toward the LST-XXL. I watched the Savage and the XXL at the local track and wow what a difference between the two. I was lucky to test drive them both. I know a lot of you have Savage's but the LST-XXL spanks that ass guys, in every single way possible. I'm surprised that there isn't more of you with the XXL to be honest with you. Granted the XXL is more exspensive but well worth the money with that controller.

Little side note...The guys at the track who owned Savage's freely admitted the LST-XXL was a better truck all around. I'll have mine in a few weeks.

Where does it say you can buy the XXL for $610.00?

If you're not familiar with how MAP pricing works you have to add the MAP priced product to your shopping cart to see what it sells for. Unfortunately this is enforced by our distributor and we have to play by the rules. We cannot openly advertise certain products on our website for less than what the distributor minimum pricing for those products are. But of course we can sell them for less, and we do.

losi for sure. It is huge, tough, fast, and can be race tuned with ease.

Losi is a good truck, better than the savage though, I don't think so.

Real question here and no B.S. How would you rate tuning and how often do you need to tune your xxl? Some guys say its a pain and others say its a very easy motor to tune and deal with. I don't have much nitro exp but I gotta learn sometime right lol. Thanks for the help guys.

Here's the real answer.
Being that you're new you will probably be cursing that XXL engine in no time. Just like you would any other one. Nitro engines are finicky to tune period. Some more than others and I consider the 454 to be one of the easier engines to tune. As far as the necessity to re-tune goes you'll have to make small tuning adjustments depending on the temperature outside, humidity and so on. But once again, just like you would with any other engine. Losi 454 from what I know is basically a rebrand of LRP .28 Spec3 which is an excellent engine in itself. I've owned 2 of them and never had trouble. You will go through some of what I call "truckstration" if you're new to nitro, but be patient and keep learning, it will reward you with a lot of fun in the end.

Thanks man. This is exactly what I was thinking. Some guys a my lhs said the same things about the 454 engine. I'll follow directions and give you a pm if I have any questions when I bring it home as far as breaking in the motor in concerned.

I'll sell it to you if you want, I'm one of the 2 operators of www.overdriverc.com
You'll pay less than a local LHS and I'll have it shipped to you in no time.

Ugh, self promotion of a site aiming to get you to buy an expensive kit, doesn't seem biased at all right

If you are new to Nitro, stay away from the LST XXL, it's not a friendly beginner truck.
