If you are new (which it sounds like you are) stick with the Savage. The following of the other trucks is minimal at best, and Losi is dropping their truck from what I've read. Savage is just better built and more durable overall, and better priced. The Losi is nice though, I'm just not a personal fan of it's layout.

Where did you get the info that Losi is dropping their truck? Seems kinda weird if they have updated that model so much. LST, Aftershock/baja/ram, Lst2, XXL.
I personally would go with the LST. Id much rather work on the LST than a savage, and personally, I have never seen a savage run better than a LST stock for stock. I have also seen situations where a savage guy wouldnt dare jump or bash as high or hard as I would with my lst. They know their truck would break.
Is there anything bad about the MGT 8.0 that I should know before I buy one? It has upgraded shocks and a nova cooling head. I have pretty much made up my mind that that is the one I want and if I decide I don't like it after I get it I will try and trade it for one of the others. I just really like the big motor in it and the look of it.

Its really a good truck. Its funny since I bought my monster truck I have been in this section of the board, but here more than any where else that I have noticed it seems to be Savage versus what ever traxxas makes
Regardless of what everyones telling you, if you like the 8.0 get the MGT. Associated products are top notch and there parts can be found just about anywhere - regardless of fan boy ism.
You wont be making a bad decision with any of the current name brand monster trucks.

I just brought a mgt 8.0 and i love love it there not a whole lot of aftermarket items which is a good thing because the truck is made solid so far trust me but all the trucks are good to me
