Default LOSI XXL damaged starter kit

Hi,

I think i damaged by electric rotor starter port on my XXL, though the pull-start is still OK,

The rotor when used has no bite at all, it just rotates freely.

Any advise?

there are gears in the roto that may have come apart. that is what happend to me one time. if you say your pull start works fine then its definitly not your one way bearing.

One of my friends did the same thing, It was the gears inside of the pull starter case.

might be the 1-way bearing. I just went through the process of upgrading a different MT for that issue.

Can you share me what sort of upgrade you did? Im worried if I install the same starter kit, the problem will recur since the material is weak.

Dear Losi - what the hell is happenening?

Funny coming from the same guy who asked if he should adjust his needles to get truck started......

It been known that the combo start is a turd put on a mach pullstart or what ever and your fine.

But dont ohh losi a over a crappy combo start ( even the great Novarossi has had problems w/ roto starts...)

Dont take this as offensive, but one thing i can't stand is newbs complaing.

ps go roto or pull but not both

I was too harsh with my comment, i admit..

but tell, me what do you expect from any customer who bought a product that fails a week after purchase? i could have realized that I may not be doing it right, but coming from the threads, its clear that this is a quality issue.

BTW, I am a newbie for monster trucks ONLY but had my Kyosho buggy with a pullstart that I ve been playing for quite some time, no issues at all. and I know how to tune nito engines at least for my buggy.

thanks for the advice anyway.

I thought I wrote "on a different model MT" as in NOT an xxl

The only way to know for sure what the problem is, is to pull off the old roto/pull combo. I kinda doubt its the 1-way now since your pull start works. Don't be surprised if that goes eventually though. Its just a big motor to pull start especially when cold.

What is recommended to replace the old combo? I just got an xxl the other day and will upgrade if mine goes south.
